Bobbi Jo + Jason

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Bobbi Jo and Jason are married! Jason is actually serving overseas in Afghanistan and on his R&R he got married! They had a small intimate wedding with just family at the Stone Chapel in Wake Forest and then had dinner at the 2nd Empire Restaurant in Raleigh.  It was so great because I had plenty of time to get great photos of them with no rush! Congrats!!!

This was their first look!

The Martins

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Luck would have it as I met the wonderful Martin family they would move to Asia! I am super excited to hear about all their adventures as they very soon move the entire family over there! They have the greatest kids names; Job, Phin and Felicity! Love it.  We first met up at Pullen park and found this row of cherry blossoms already in bloom! It was so great! We also found this 1 patch of the greenest grass and parked ourselves there. It was a great find.  There were also a million people there. Are there always a million people at Pullen Park because it seems like everytime I go I have to wait for a space for 15 minutes!

After that we ventured to downtown Raleigh to the city market.  There just happened to be a race there with also a million people there!

If you’ve ever seen this mural by the City Market you might notice faces on these fruits.
Seriously what were people thinking when they painted faces on these fruits?! They just had to go for this photo.  Sorry fruit.

The Magic Pipers Band

Monday, March 1st, 2010

A few weeks ago I headed out to 42nd street to take some photos of the Magic Pipers Band. They were SO awesome! Their music style is a wide variety of Rhythm & Blues, Rock, Top 40, Oldies, and Dance Music! Check out their facebook page. Here are some photos from that night! Check them out, they are great!

Jason+LaBranda

So there is a new trend in weddings now…and I LOVE it! Who is to say it is bad luck to see each other before the wedding? A lot of couples are going against tradition and seeing each other before the ceremony. Now, it’s not like they just bump into each other in the hall, but the couple sets aside a specific time to see each other before the ceremony. From a photographers perspective I LOVE this! It gives more time for photos and less time in between the ceremony and reception so you can get to your party! I think it also alleviates the pressure and stress of not seeing each other the entire day. From what I’ve seen, it also gives more time for photography and therefore equals better photos! I shot a wedding in Raleigh January 2 and that’s what they did! It was so special the way the organized it!
The first few are from their pre-ceremony rendezvous and then the rest are some other fun ones…thanks LaBranda and Jason for a great day!

So if you’re a little squeamish about this and want an alternative I would suggest planning out specific time in between the ceremony and reception for you and your new spouse to take some photos around the town or venue.
